What is the Feldenkrais Method®?

The Feldenkrais Method® was developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, an Israeli engineer. The method is different from tai chi and yoga but similar in its integrative approach to harmonizing the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of the human system. The method reorganizes connections between the brain and body in order to improve body movement and one's psychological state. 

 

How long is a typical session?

The length of a session varies based on goals and needs. Expect your first visit to last one and a half to two hours.

Do you offer Physical Therapy?

Yes, Feldenkrais® Knoxville offers individualized physical therapy treatments. Our therapist, Kathy White, is a graduate of Emory University's School of Medicine's Physical Therapy program. She combines her expertise in biomechanics with a unique holistic approach that is tailored to your psychology, history and emotions.  With over thirty years of experience as a licensed therapist Kathy offers an integrative approach to the mind-body connection,  she creates and implements treatment programs that are unique to YOU and your goals. Do you take insurance?

Yes. Feldenkrais® Knoxville accepts Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield. In order for your insurance company to reimburse your therapy, treatments we will need a signed prescription from your doctor and a medically valid reason for treatment. To request a list for our cash based prices, click here
